as I've been doing the pest control work I've seen alot of middle Tennessee that I've not been privy to. it was nice to find out that Jesus can find people in the stall of the mcdonald's in hartsville.
When you find termites (such as we did with this home) you don't want to go rampant with bug killing sprays and such. They can give you some immediate comfort but it doesn't take care of the root problem. The Sentricon system we provide baits the grimey chewers who once located get baited & go back to the colony (which can be in the millions) to kill off significant members and cause the whole colony to die and thus stop chewing on your stuff. Note: this is a rather simplistic explanation but you get the idea I'm sure. Cool thing for you of the green mindset. Sentricon is completely green (before there was a green) option for keeping your house safe from these pests. http://www.allamericanpestcontrol.com
Termites in the Middle Tennessee area (and the southeast for that matter) are subterranean, which means they stay underground. You need to watch what stuff you put on the ground around or under your house. Termites will crawl up from the ground and start eating and you may never know till it's to late. Here's some termites chewing on the boxes of some flooring behind a house in south Nashville.
Wasn't too excited to have to crawl into here. Thank goodness found a little bigger (not much) hole on the otherside of home. Still, had to psyche myself up to crawl the home, first time I had to do that.
Had a call yesterday for a swarm of termites. Usually in our area termites do not swarm around this time of year, but turns out we stumbled upon a not to often seen Dark Southeastern Subterranean termite. They are smaller in size and colony and do little damage compared to their Eastern Subterranean termite counterparts. Put together a plan to make sure we are handling the problem. Mystery solved!
